Muckflower was born out of a passion for learning and growing, specifically about how to reduce our carbon footprint through homesteading practices. We aim to create a life where nature and people work together to positively impact our little part of San Diego. By adopting new habits, even just a little every day, and celebrating our successes, we begin to transform dirt into fertile soil and trash into treasure by composting. This journey also increases our children's awareness that nature needs them as caretakers. With a coop full of chickens and a garden we nurture to the best of our ability, we are excited to share our journey, including our failures, in hopes of providing information and tools to others who want to achieve similar goals. Thank you for visiting our site and taking the time to read our story! Good luck to us all!

As a new business in San Diego, we understand that our operations will impact the environment through the purchasing of supplies, which leads to new packaging and transportation activities related to the delivery of our products. To mitigate this impact, we will be donating a portion of our proceeds to organizations that focus on education about composting, waste diversion, soil regeneration, and sustainable living. Additionally, we plan to purchase carbon offset credits that support global projects aimed at helping local communities restore ecosystems. As we embark on this journey, we are excited to explore practices such as raising laying hens, meat rabbits, composting, & gardening. We invite you to check back for updates on our progress!
